Dead right.
I have been reading a lot lately on cults and manipulative mine control, one thing many cults use is music and singing, I wonder when this will be added to their song book.
i'm sorry if this has been posted previously, but i haven't noticed it.. this was posted on reddit.. has anyone seen this moneysuck video:.

Consider these watchtower comments:
I find this one particularly interesting, since I started looking at these so called apostate sites, I fine very little false information, it is almost always true, so who is spreading false information?
I copied these quotes from:
http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/quotes/apostates.php
and there are many more.
Saying that apostates are "mentally diseased" is just adding to all the crap they have said in the past.
And clearly they are inciting active JWs to hate apostates.
On the contrary, we care very much about those stuck in the bOrg, we have family and friends there, that is why we do this.

Maybe there is something we are all missing here, as to the reason they need the money.
We all know that they make investments, we do not know what kind of investments. If they have had excess money in the past and intelligently invested this money, then that is fine I do not think anybody will find that bad or dishonest.
But what if they speculated with the money? that's a different matter. Just simply moving the money to another currency can be dangerous. In January the US$ gained 25% (briefly) in a very short space of time against the Swiss Franc due to a decision made be the Swiss Central Bank. This resulted in some hedge funds loosing a lot of money, so the question in my mind is, where does the Watchtower have its funds parked?
With some types of investments (speculative), the investor must inject even more money if there is a significant movement in the wrong direction.
there is a lot of talk on how much the organization has and how much they receive in contributions.
now with the latest begging video from lett, maybe we as an ex jw community, try to figure this out together.. this is just an idea and i want to get other opinions on this.. if enough members who actually know the figures from their (last) kh for the building fund and other contributions are willing to enter this information on a website, we can use these figures to estimate the actual amount the organization is receiving from the publishers.. the figure will never be accurate, but i think it would be fun..
@menrov
And the WBTS also invest in shares and bonds. Hard to estimate the income or losses on that...
Very true, but my idea is more along the lines of contributions from the congregations. Their income from assets is not really what I as thinking about.
But if there is somebody who really knows how to get that information it would be awesome.

with all the negativity here i was wondering if i am the only one here that's a witness.

the topic pretty much says everything..
@ A Watcher
I believe Jehovah is directing the GB on most of their MAJOR decisions.
Is it a major decision to protect pedophile members or a minor decision?
So the GB is learning humility by allowing victims to be punished and perpetrators to be free.
Please explain that to me.

"Money, Money, Money"
having recently had an "awakening" - not from reading awake .... i realize i can not preach doctrines i do not believe anymore .
but i do not want the elders to start following my every move, because i also have plans to check other christian denominations.. so i am thinking, should i chat for an hour or two with an old visit and report the hours, should i tell the elders i have some doubts and i do not want to preach for now or should i just stop reporting and avoid the elders attempts to talk to me?
what do you think is the best sollution to get away with this?
Just reporting 1 hour a month messes up the congregation statistics and lowers the congregation average, even if you do more.
I stopped suddenly reporting, and was badgered by the elders for a whole month for my report. Then I explained that I did go in service (which I did), but was not reporting because I considered it to be a man-made rule and not biblical. They left me alone, now I am a fader, attend neither meetings nor go in the ministry.

You forgot one point, we turned over the deed of the property to you anyway.
dear friends,.
i would like to hear your comments or suggestions on the following:.
a little background info.. i managed to fade completely.
I still pray with my family using the name Jehovah and in the name of Jesus.
Considering that Jehovah is not the name of the most high god of the bible, it does not really matter, keeping up appearances to keep that contact with your family is important.
Addressing a prayer to Jehovah, is effectively addressing a prayer to nobody.
The first time the name Jehovah appears in any written records was in 1270, this can be checked in the organizations own literature. In the old "Aid to bible understanding", in the last paragraph on page 884. However you will not find any reference to this in the Watchtower library or the index. (I wonder why?)
I still pray, but on my personal prayers I address the prayers to our heavenly father.
I have not got that far as to not believe in god, it may come, it may not.
